Official sources said here Wednesday that to help farmers get the maximum price for honey, the Cooperative Department has constituted 144 block-level Honey Producer and Processing Committees across the state. These committees will assist farmers in organised production, processing and marketing of honey, enabling them to work collectively and improve the quality and reach of their products.
The sources said that Bihar State Honey Producer and Processing Federation has also been formed at the state level which will serve as a common platform for the block-level committees and help ensure honey quality, branding, access to larger markets and expansion of export opportunities.
