Kannur, Nov 27 (UNI) Maldives Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi on Saturday said that cooperation between India and Maldives was essential for the security of both countries.
Talking to newspersons after reviewing the Passing Out Parade (PoP) of cadets held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala here, Didi said Maldives has received Indian assistance in times of crisis, including the Covid pandemic and that India is one of the development partners of Maldives.
The bridges between the countries are based on equality and mutual trust, with a desire to ensure security, including in the Indian Ocean region, said the Maldivian Minister, adding "India, the world's largest democracy, has always been fascinated by diversity".
