Controversy over Pitroda remark; Cong in damage control mode, calls it personal view

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) In a damage control mode, Congress party on Friday distanced itself from the statement made by Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda on the Balakot air strike saying, “it was his personal view”.
Responding to mediapersons on Mr Pitroda’s statement, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said that what the former said was his personal view and reminded that UPA one and UPA two had given befitting replies to Pakistan.
“Mr Pitroda has a point of view, I think that is his personal view. Even after the attacks in Mumbai, it was the government and the armed forces that would have decided at the manner in which to reply to the attack. We have always maintained that even at the time of UPA one and two, about six to seven times our armed forces crossed the border, and gave befitting replies to Pakistan”, Mr Dikshit said.
