Continuous skilling essential for growth in AI era: AICTE Chairman

Pune, Oct 9 (UNI) Prof. T. G. Sitaram, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), today stressed the critical need for continuous learning and skill acquisition in an era of rapid technological evolution. He stated that while Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents challenges across all sectors, it also offers immense opportunities.
Speaking at the first convocation ceremony of DES Pune University, Prof. Sitaram said, “In this changing environment, we must focus on skilling, upskilling, and reskilling with an innovative mindset.”
He addressed the 183 graduating students, emphasising that convocation marks the beginning of a new journey that will bring challenges and, at times, failures. He assured them that with confidence and perseverance, success is achievable.

Maha: Farmer mauled to death by tiger in Chandrapur

Chandrapur, Nov 6 (UNI) A farmer was killed by a tiger on Thursday while picking cotton in a field near Amboli Road in Chimur tehsil of Maharashtra's Chandrapur district, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Eeshwar Bharde, a local resident.
According to the officials, tiger sightings had been frequent in the area over the past few days. However, the animal attacked Bharde while he was working in the field, killing him on the spot.

The incident occurred around 7:00 pm, shortly after local train services on the Central Railway had been disrupted due to an impromptu protest by employee unions.
