Jammu, Aug 11 (UNI) Nearly five days after, a fresh contact was established between security forces and a group of terrorists on Sunday evening in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir.
"After specific input regarding the movement in the area, a search operation was launched by our parties in the Khaned area of Basantgarh," official sources said.
They said that the operation is underway.
Earlier on August 6, contact was established in the same area following which a massive search operation was in progress in the forest belt of Basantgarh in Udhampur district.
Sources said that three to four hiding terrorists were trapped in the operation.
Meanwhile, a brief exchange of firing took place between security forces and terrorists early morning on Sunday in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"A brief exchange of fire has taken place between terrorists and security forces in the area of Kishtwar Police Station," the police spokesman said.
The search operation was in progress, said the spokesman.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, however, on Saturday released sketches of terrorists seen in the recent past in parts of Kathua district.
Police released sketches of four terrorists who were last seen in dhoks of Malhar, Bani and Seojdhar.
