New Delhi, Jul 3 (UNI) When Hockey India announced a month-long break for all members of the Indian men and women's hockey core probables group on June 19, everyone except Suraj Karkera decided to make their way home.
Suraj had to take the tough decision of not going back to Mumbai since his city is one of the worst affected in India as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned.
"I spoke to my parents once the month-long break was announced. They asked me if I could stay back at the SAI campus because the situation isn't great in Mumbai. After thinking about our safety, my parents and I decided that it's best for me to stay back here, even though my teammates had decided to leave.
