Congress workers stage dharna, allege farm sector neglected

Kakinada, Jun 19 (UNI) Congress workers in large numbers staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here today, protesting against the government’s anti-farmer policies, alleging that the agriculture sector was totally neglected for the past three years.
They raised slogans denouncing both the state and central governments for the pathetic condition of the farmers and demanding minimum support price for the agricultural produce.
District Congress President Pantham Nanaji, while addressing the demonstrators, warned the BJP and the TDP governments of incurring people’s wrath in the hustings as they failed miserably in fulfilling the promises made to the farmers in their party election manifestos.
