Sangli, Oct 25 (UNI) Congress party's candidate Vishwajeet Kadam has retained the Palus-Kadegaon constituency in the district with a huge margin of over 1.60 lakh votes over his nearest Shiv Sena rival Sanjay Vibhute in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the results of which were declared on Thursday.
In a one-sideded contest, Mr Kadam, former Youth Congress president and son of late former minister Dr Patangrao Kadam, polled total 1,71,521 votes while his nearest rival Mr Vibhute got only 8,976 votes, who lost his deposit along with all other seven independents candidates.
