Congress uses minorities as their vote bank: Minister

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Oct 13 (UNI) Union Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Minister, Kiran Rijiju, on Sunday accused the Congress party of using minorities only for their vote bank politics.
Addressing a press conference here during a tour of Maharashtra, he said that the people of Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi communities fall in minority category and Maharashtra has a large population of the Buddhist people.
The Congress always fooled the minorities and used them as their vote bank, he alleged.
He claimed that the Congress party had spread a false narrative during the Lok Sabha election that BJP is going to change the Constitution of the country.
The Constitution in fact is not only a document of rights and duties but is the soul of every Indian citizen, he noted.
"However, the Congress has now been exposed and we are trying to correct their fake narrative by reaching out to the people," he said and hoped that people will not fall prey to their narrative.
The Minister also alleged that the Congress party amended the Constitution on several occasions, even changed the Preamble to the Constitution and imposed emergency in the country.
Continuing his attack, he claimed that the Congress had not given respect to architect of the Constitution, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, and did not honour him with Bharat Ratna award.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas to make Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Rijiju asserted that the Constitution Day will be celebrated by the central government on November 26 in a grand manner to mark completion of 75 years this year.
The Minority Ministry is going to build memorial of Dr Ambedkar at a house in Cantonment area where Dr Ambedkar spent many years, he added.
