Patna, Jan 2 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and state health minister Mangal Pandey today said that Congress stood exposed after the court's verdict in Sohrabuddin case and alleged that the then Congress led UPA government had misused the CBI to target party chief Amit Shah who was Gujarat home minister under a well-planned conspiracy eight years ago.
Mr Pandey told media here that the then UPA government was instrumental in making Mr Shah an accused in the case related to Sohrabuddin Sheikh`s police encounter by terming it fake and misusing CBI with an intention to target him. He said that the former UPA government was bent on defaming the then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and his government.
Mr Pandey said that after the special CBI court's verdict in the case, the then Congress president Sonia Gandhi had been unmasked alleging that she along with CBI had made attempts to ‘manufacture evidence’ against Mr Shah with an intention to ‘destroy him politically.
