Bengaluru, May 16 (UNI) Taking strong objection to Karnataka State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit president B S Yeddyurappa’s call to Veerashaiva Lingayath community people not to vote for the Congress in the May 19 by-elections in the state, the KPCC has decided to register a complaint with the Election Commission, Prakash Rathod, Congress spokesperson said here on Thursday.
Addressing newsmen here, the Congress MLC, charged that Yeddyurappa’s statement was aimed at dividing the society, and against the election Model Code of Conduct.
The BJP leader, in a press conference here earlyl this week seeking explanation from the Congress for removing former Chief Minister Veerendra Patil from the post, had allegedly accused that Congress had insulted the Veerashaiva leader by asking him to resign abruptly.
