Jaipur, Nov 30 (UNI) The opposition Congress, in its bid for staging a comeback to power in Rajasthan, has reaffirmed resolve for effective implementation of the Food Security Act and promised for providing wheat to BPL families at the rate of Re one per Kg in the event of installation of the party-led government after December 7, Assembly polls.
This commitment was made by the grand old party in its manifesto released here on Thursday, however, the document did not mention the quantum of the food grains proposed to be provided by the party.
It, however, promised to increase the coverage of the Food Security Act from 69 per cent population to cent percent, including eligible families from all strata and classes of the society.
