Congress, Left & other Opp. MPs stage walkout in LS on mob lynching

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) The opposition members belonging to Congress, Left parties, NCP and RJD staged walkout in Lok Sabha on Thursday expressing their dissatisfaction at the statement made by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on mob lynching.
Responding during Zero Hour to queries from Congress member K C Venugopal, Home Minister Mr Singh condemned the various incidents of mob lynching and said though the law and order was a state subject, the central government has never maintained silence on the same.
"In fact, we issued two advisories to the state governments urging them to take firm actions against the wrong doers and those involved in mob lynching," Home Minister said adding while one advisory was issued in 2016 and the other was given by the Home Ministry in the first week of July.
Congress floor leader Mallikarjun Kharge said Minister's response was not satisfactory.
Even while Rajnath Singh was giving his response, many Congress MPs including Mr Venugopal asked why the members of Union Council of Ministers were found "garlanding" the mob lynching accused.
