New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) Distancing itself from the remarks made by party leader Sam Pitroda over 1984 anti Sikh riots, the Congress on Friday said that the party continues to support the pursuit of justice for the 1984 anti Sikh riots victims, adding that any such remark made by any individual is not the opinion of the party.
Replying to a question during his press conference, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the grand old party believes that justice should be done with the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots victims and also to the victims of the 2002 Gujarat riots, adding that the party detests any kind of violence against any person or a group based on caste, color, religion or region.
Mr Singhvi attacked the BJP, alleging that riots are vote garnering exercise for them in every election. He further hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that such things were deceptions and distractions used by him.
