New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) A delegation of Congress leaders from Telangana met Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra on Thursday and demanded the cancellation of the Huzurabad Assembly by-polls alleging violation of the model code of conduct.
The delegation, comprising of party leaders Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy, Sravan Dasoju and H Venugopal Rao, submitted a memorandum and alleged money and liquor was being distributed by TRS and BJP.
"It is disheartening to observe both ruling TRS and BJP parties are resorting to brazen abuse of power and obstructing the conduct of a free and fair election in By-election to Huzurabad (31) Assembly Constituency in Telangana demeaning the democracy," the Congress said in a memorandum submitted to the Election Commission.
