New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday asserted that the grand old party has always stood for the women's rights and it believes in equal rights and equal representation.
'For women's rights had stood before, still standing! Equal rights, equal representation!,' the Congress leader said in a social media post.
His reaction comes hours after Congress general secretary and in charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced that the party will give 40 per cent tickets to the women candidates in the upcoming UP assembly polls next year to boost women empowerment in the state.
