New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) The Congress on Saturday said it will raise the Chinese issue, economic situation and alleged interference into Constitutional institutions by the ruling dispensation.
Addressing a press conference, Congress general secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh, while apprising about the 'Congress parliamentary strategy group' meeting, chaired by Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi said, "In the meeting, a wide range of issues including unemployment, guaranteed minimum support price (MSP) for farmers, inflation were discussed which were mentioned by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge."
Among others, the meeting also discussed about the border situation, alleged interference into Constitutional institutions, falling rupee, Morbi (Gujarat) tragedy and targetted killings in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
"Congress will raise three big issues -- border situation (India-China), economic situation and alleged interference into Constitutional institutions in the Winter session of Parliament. We hope the government will allow a debate on these issues," the Congress MP said.
He informed that Congress chief will discuss these issues with other Opposition parties also.
Attacking the government over alleged Chinese incursion, he said, "For the past 2.5 years Parliament has been denied any opportunity for a discussion even on the border situation."
Earlier in the day, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate at a press conference at the party headquarters also attacked the BJP government over the same and said, "In the Depsang area, China has built permanent structures and shelters. These temperature regulated shelters help any army personnel to be stationed permanently at any place. Two hundred such shelters have been built by China in our territory, 15-18 kilometers inside the LAC."
She posed a volley of questions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Chinese issue.
Shrinate asked what steps are being taken to push away the Chinese from the Depsang and Demchock area.
Meanwhile, the Congress president in a tweet wrote, "Narendra Modi ji, gave 'clean chit to China after 20 Indian bravehearts sacrificed their lives in Galwan. Another clean chit is being drafted for brazen Chinese incursions and construction in Depsang plains,Pangong Tso Lake area and Gogra Hot Springs? Nation deserves answers PM ji."
The Winter session of the Parliament is scheduled to be held from December 7.
