New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) The Congress party on Friday stated that the democracy was in 'danger' and it is the time to "rise above parochial, sectoral and other identities which divide us by wedging differences between one another".
The statement from the party came in a meeting called to finalise the programmes for the celebration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
"It is time for us to stand in the name of humanity against ideas of divisiveness and nefarious designs of perpetuating identity based hatred by destructive forces in order to save this nation", said KC Venugopal, AICC general secretary in-charge of organisation, in a meeting of Congress general secretaries and in-charges held at AICC headquarters.
