Cong says Kolibera win has sent message across state, BJP credits religious heads for win

Ranchi, Dec 23 (UNI) Post the victory in the by-polls to the Kolibera seat of the Jharkhand Assembly the state unit of the party indulged in celebrations by bursting fire crackers and shimmed gulal on each other’s faces to express their happiness.
In the celebrations which was organised at the party headquarters senior party leaders Alok Kumar Dubey, Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Rajesh Gupta Chotu were present. JPCC media incharge Rajesh Thakur said that the people of Kolibera have given a message across the state and supported the secular credentials of the party and its candidate.
He said that post the victory in the assembly elections in three states the morale of the Congress workers was on a high. He said that the people are fed up with Jumlas of the BJP and pointed the issues of school closures, para teacher agitation, hunger deaths and increase in crime against women as the reason behind defeat of the BJP.
State BJP president and MP Laxman Giluwa said that despite ending on the losing side the party has managed to win in Kolibera as compared to 2014 the votes and the percentage of votes received have both increased for the BJP. He expressed his gratitude towards the work done by the party workers on the seat and thanked the people of the constituency for their support.

Mr Giluwa said that the policies and programmes of the state government has been lauded by the people and said that people of Kolibera have rejected the politics of religious conversions and CNT ACT and exuded confidence that in 2019 definitely the BJP would win the polls.
On the other hand the Jharkhand BJP also extended its congratulations for winning the seat to the Congress party with spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo crediting the religious heads who had campaigned in the area like a worker of the Congress party. He said that Kolibera has always been a challenge for the BJP as 57 per cent voters in the area are from the minorities and never the BJP has managed to win the seat.
He said that the BJP was successful in keeping its vote bank intact. However the manner in which the Congress indulged in religious polarization is worth condemning Shahdeo said, adding that the manner in which the forces which are involved in religious conversions has supported the Congress it is clear that the party was taking help of such forces which have exploited the adivasis and the moolvasis of the state.
