Bhopal, Oct 25 (UNI) With by-poll voting just nine days away in 28 Assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh, the opposition Congress took a direct hit amidships on Sunday when Damoh legislator Rahul Singh submitted his resignation from the Vidhan Sabha and subsequently entered ruling Bharatiya Janata Party ranks.
Mr Singh formally assumed saffron camp membership at the BJP state office in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the party’s state President Vishnu Datt Sharma plus Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh. Earlier, he put in his papers to Pro Tem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma who accepted the same.
