Cong leaders congratulate new Punjab CM

Chandigarh, Sep 19 (UNI) Congress leaders from Punjab on Sunday congratulated Charanjit Singh Channi who was announced as the new Chief Minister of Punjab by the party high command.
Extending his best wishes to his successor, former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has expressed hope that Channi would be able to keep the border state safe.
Raveen Thukral, who is the media advisor to Singh, posted a message of the former CM in a tweet, shortly after Congress Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat announced Channi's name for the top post.

Khandwa, MP, Oct 24 (UNI) Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Sunday that if the Congress had worked honestly in the country, then the party’s existence would not have been endangered.
“In the post-Independence period, the Congress got an opportunity to rule the country for years but that party’s leaders paid no attention to the public and kept their focus on the vote bank. The condition of the poor worsened as the Congress always played the politics of grabbing power,” he alleged while addressing a rally in support of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Gyaneshwar Patil at Deshgaon in Khandwa parliamentary constituency where a by-election is underway.
