New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) Congress on Wednesday issued a show cause notice to five of its Delhi leaders, who 'issued public statement against the senior party leaders' and asked to give an explanation as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.
The notice was issued by Motilal Vora, Member Secretary of Congress's Central disciplinary action committee, asked five leaders to explain within 15 days i.e. on or before November, 17.
The notice says that "failing which appropriate action will be initiated against them".
The notice was issued to former Ministers Kiran Walia, Mangatram Singhal, Ramakant Goswami and former Muncipal Councilors Rohit Manchanda and Jitendra Kumar Kochar.
The five leaders had held a press conference against AICC Delhi in-charge PC Chacko and demanded his removal from the post.
The leaders had also leveled allegation of corruption against Mr Chacko and demanded party president Sonia Gandhi to form a committee to probe the matter.
They had also accused Mr Chacko of 'leaking' a personal letter written by former MP Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Chief Minister Late Sheila Dikshit.
