Cong forms election manifesto committee in Haryana

New Delhi, Sept 20 (UNI) Gearing up for the upcoming Haryana assembly polls, the Congress on Friday constituted its manifesto committee, which former state Minister and MLA Kiran Chaudhary will be the chairperson.

The party has also appointed former Minister Aftab Ahmed as convener and former Sevadal president Suresh Gupta as co-convener.

"The Congress president has approved the proposal of Haryana Pradesh Election Manifesto Committee", said KC Venugopal, AICC general secretary in-charge of organisation in a statement.

The Congress has formed a 44 member committee to prepare the manifesto, which included Haryana PCC president Kumari Selja, former Chief Minister and CLP leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former PCC president Ashok Tanwar and AICC communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala and chiefs of all frontal organisations.

Earlier, the Congress had urged people to pitch ideas for the manifesto.

Haryana will be going for the polls by the end of the year and the Election Commission is likely to announce the dates of the polls soon.

New Delhi, May 28 (UNI) Delhi Police Crime Branch has filed 12 different charge sheets in the Saket court on Thursday in the Tablighi Jamaat Nizamuddin Markaz case against a total of 536 persons, while 35 such charge sheets were filed earlier, taking the total number of foreign nationals charge- sheeted in the case to 910 so far.
