New Delhi, Oct 28(UNI) The Congress on Sunday demanded the resignation of the Chattisgarh Chief Minister Singh , alleging that it was due to his wrong policies that the Naxal violence was increasing in the state and the government has failed to put a check on it.
Referrring to the number of past incidents if Naxal violence p in the state, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi, speaking to reporters here, said that in 2015 103 such incidents took place which crossed the figure of 130 in 2017,.
The figure for thjs year is yet to come but it us likely to p increase.
Hitting out at the BJP government in the state , he said that they are not able to stop the violence due to their policies that are ineffective and because of this the soldiers are dieng in the Naxal affected areas.
'The number of martyrs and civilians killings are increasing with the increase in attacks in such areas and therefore, Mr Singh has no right to continue as CM, 'the Congress leader said.
The Congress spokesman further accused the Bharatiya Janata Party's government at the Centre of worsening the situation in Jammu and Kashmir .
'Likewise the government in Chattisgarh has made the situation in Naxal affected area in Chattisgarh worse,'he said..
Mr Singhvi further said that it was suprising to see that whole Naxalite attacks are taking place in Chhattisgarh,, Home Minister Rajnath Singh is travelling to Rajasthan.
Taking a dig at the PM, SInghvi said that he failed to stop the increase in incidents of violence in the country and is on a visit to Japan in such a situation.
Attacking the PM over the note ban, he said that the PM claimed that the ban would help in preventing militancy and Naxalism in the country,.
' However the figures that have come out in the meanwhile clearly show increase in such incidents . More than 130 security persons have been killed and there have been dozens of major militancy incidents in Jammu and Kashmir after the demonetisation ,' said Mr Singhvi.
Four jawans were killed on Saturday followng a landmine explosion at Murtuda and Timapur in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, while a Naxal outfit also issued a decree to boycott the state assembly polls, instructing the village people in several areas not to vote.
