New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) Congress on Thursday criticised the government for the falling sales of automobiles and claimed that the dire state of the sector is proof of an economic meltdown.
"Worse Auto Sales in 10 years, Production volume of passenger cars and commercial vehicles is lowest in last 6 years, sales reduced by 25 percent", AICC Communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said' quoting media reports.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has said auto companies will be compelled to shed manpower.
According to SIAM, the de-growth in the auto sector today is significantly prolonged, and the worst since 2008-09 and 2011-12.
"Dire state of Auto Sector is proof of Economic Meltdown If sales continue to fall," said Mr Surjewala in tweet.
