Confusion within UP Cong over alliance in assy polls

Lucknow, May 12 (UNI) Though Congress projected a turnaround of their fortune in the next Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh after roping in of Prashant Kishor, confusion still prevailed over going alone in the polls or trying Bihar-like formula of 'Maha Ghatbandhan' (Grand Alliance) to regain power in the state after three decades.
While the senior leaders, including party general secretary Madhusudan Mistri, who is also incharge of the party affairs in the state and state president Nirmal Khatri, claimed that the party is ready to go alone, the poll strategist Mr Kishor strongly favours coalition politics particularly after grand success of Bihar.
Party sources here today said though Congress hired the services of Mr Kishor hoping that the poll strategist would do a miracle for the party by drafting a 'Winning Formula’ but the top leadership working in the state had strong differences with this 'game changer’ from Bihar over how to go, alone or in coalition with other parties in the next assembly elections.
