Confusion continues over resumption of passenger traffic on Mughal Road

Srinagar, Sep 28 (UNI) Confusion and chaos reigned on Monday on the historic 86-km-long Mughal Road as the administration announced resumption of passenger traffic from both sides after getting permission from Divisional Commissioners from Srinagar and Jammu, while the traffic police said no public transport will be allowed on the road for now.
A traffic police official told UNI on Monday that only downward traffic (load carriers) loaded with fresh fruits from Herpora, Shopian will be allowed to move between 1100 hrs to 1600 hrs towards Poonch in Jammu region on other side of the Pir-ki-Gali. However, no vehicle will be allowed after the cut off time, he said.
He also said that no passenger vehicle will be allowed to ply on the road, which is seen as an alternative to the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
