Conference of K'taka State Federation of Petroleum dealers to be held on Feb 29

Udupi, Feb 27 (UNI) Karnataka State Federation of Petroleum Dealers will organise a state-level conference on February 29 and March 1 here.
Addressing to the media personnel, Karnataka State Federation of Petroleum Dealers president H S Manjappa said on Thursday that it was essential to bring petrol and diesel under the purview of GST.
The differences in the prices of petrol and diesel in states have put several dealers in the border areas of Karnataka state into trouble.
‘‘Because petroleum products are not included in the GST, we are not able to get the input tax credit,’’ he said.
Manjappa said that the conference intends to discuss various issues of the petroleum dealers of the state.
He said K Gopalaiah, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs will inaugurate the conference. MP of Dakshina Kannada Nalin Kumar Kateel and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje will be the chief guests.
He said that more than 600 dealers will take part in the conference.
Manjappa added that during the conference in Udupi there will also be a discussion to urge the government to fix uniform price for petrol and diesel across the country. Now, citing various reasons like transport charges and supplying point, the prices are getting varied from one place to another, from one bunk to another.
It will be also discussed in the conference to demand the government to revise the price of petroleum products every six months. There was an agreement between the government and the federation entered in 2016 to allow the revision of prices every six months, but it is never materialized.
