Lucknow, Jun 5 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said that due to the wrong policies of the BJP, the conditions of farmers and traders has worsened in the six years of their tenure.
Mr Yadav said that the Prime Minister and Chief Minister get free from their responsibilities by only making announcements. Farmers are committing suicides while BJP is celebrating its achievements which are in the air.
Mr Yadav averred that the Khatauli sugarcane mill refused to take the sugarcane of farmer Om Pal (55) in Budhana Vidhan Sabha area of Sisauli town in Muzaffarnagar. He has six children and the financial condition of his home was in a bad shape. When the condition deteriorated during lockdown, he committed suicide in depression. His three bighas of sugarcane is lying in the farm. The SP has provided a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the victim family. The government should provide them with an assistance of Rs 10 lakh.
