Complete shutdown in Anantnag on 22nd death anniversary of Qazi Nisar

Srinagar, Jun 19 (UNI) A complete shutdown was today observed in the main town of district Anantnag on the 22nd death anniversary of Mirwaiz south Kashmir Dr Qazi Nisar.
Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads. However, few private vehicles could be seen plying on some routes. To prevent any protests or violence, a large number of security forces and state police personnel had been deployed in Anantnag since early this morning.
Meanwhile, Mirwaiz of South Kashmir Qazir Yasir was on June 16 arrested by police ahead of his father Dr Nissar’s death anniversary today. Mirwaiz was addressing a press conference at his residence in Anantnag regarding June 19 programme, when he was taken into custody.
