Communal tension grips Bishramganj in Tripura

Agartala, Aug 6 (UNI) Tripura’s Sepahijala district administration clamped 163 of BNS last night for 24 hours following communal tension that erupted after a group of tribal people attacked a passenger bus near Bishramganj police station in the evening, alleging an 18-year-old girl was molested inside the bus by her co-passenger.
The agitated tribals led by Soren Debbarma, a leader of TIPRA Motha, the ruling BJP ally in the state government, ransacked the bus, assaulted passengers, including women and children, in the presence of police.
Allegedly, SP (Sepahijala) Bijoy Debbarma, along with his police team, was present nearby when vandalism took place.
