Commando 2: Vidyut the bright spot of this thrilling action feast

Commando 2: Vidyut the bright spot of this thrilling action feast

By Rajesh Ahuja

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) With 'Commando', he established a niche as an action hero to reckon with .
In 'Commando 2', Vidyut Jammval again impresses you as an 'action hero'.
Watching him perform the death defying action sequences, complete with bone-crunching punches, flying fists and aerial acrobatics, in 'commando 2' is a treat.
While in 'Commando', Vidyut played a lone ranger, in the second edition of the Commando series, he essays a cop on the trail of black money.
Vidyut returns as Captain Karanvir Singh, in charge of bringing in the leader of an international money laundering ring from Malaysia to India.
India's most wanted Black Money agent, Vicky Chaddha, gets arrested in Malaysia and is kept in a safe house by the Malaysian authorities, along with his wife.
Captain Karanvir Singh leads a team of four which is sent to Malaysia to bring them to India.
Part of his team is the police woman Bhavna Reddy (Adah Sharma) who speaks Hindi with a Hyderabadi accent.
The mission to tackle the black money racket takes a dangerous turn with the lawbreakers proving to be quite formidable.
The story follows Karan as he uses his brain and brawn to recover all of the laundered black money.
From the moment the film begins, it is evident that the film is another action feast like the first edition.
In fact, the first half of the film is a thrill-a-minute replete with breathtaking action punches, flying fists and gun-slinging.
The screenplay moves at a brisk pace throughout the film, keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats.
Also, the writers have managed to maintain an element of intrigue which keeps the audiences hooked.
However, the attempts to introduce comic relief in this otherwise taut action drama gives an unnecessary jerk to the proceedings.
Also, not much attention seems to have been given to the dialogues which range from ordinary to clinched.
As a cop on the trail of black money, Vidyut comes up with another impressive performance.
With his body physique -ripped torso and sinewy arms - and the effortless ease with which he destroys his enemies, Vidyut looks every bit the archetypal action hero.
'Commando 2' further cements his position as among the best action heroes of Bollywood.
He is one of the bright spots of this action feast.
As the woman cop Bhavna Reddy, Adah comes across as stylish with her high heels and her wardrobe.
She also provides some comic relief in the film though her comedy does tend to put unnecessary jerks in midst of thrilling action.
Esha Gupta fails to impress with her 'stylish vamp with a heavy make up' act.
The rest of the cast is ordinary.
The music of the film is not much to talk about.
'Commando 2' is another action feast from the Commando action franchise with Vidyut undoubtedly coming across as the bright spot with his physique and effortless action stunts.
Rating:3/5: one for taut and thrilling screenplay, one for the breathtaking action and one for the 'action hero' act by Vidyut Jammval.
