Colleges to reopen on Feb 21 after vacations, CUK, KU postpone tests, interview

Srinagar, Feb 17 (UNI) All colleges which were scheduled to reopen on Monday after winter vacation will now reopen on February 21 in the valley, where Central University Kashmir (CUK) and Kashmir University (KU) has also postponed entrance test and interviews.
Though the tests and interviews scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed and winter vacation in colleges extended as a precautionary measure following reports about attack on Kashmiri students outside the valley, the divisional administration said colleges will remain closed following inclement weather forecast.
An official spokesman said that in view of the inclement weather forecast, the Divisional administration in Kashmir has ordered deferred reopening of colleges after winter vacations across the division.
Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan said all colleges across the Kashmir division scheduled to reopen tomorrow after winter vacations will now reopen on Thursday February 21.
He said the decision has been taken in view of the inclement weather forecast.
The CUK has postponed the Entrance Test – 2019 for admission to 5-Year Integrated, 3-Year Honors and 3-Year Professional Programmes. According to the University statement, it is notified for the information of all concerned candidates that, the Entrance Test for the subjects viz. Geography, Commerce and History, scheduled for February, 18 2019 and February 19 2019 respectively, is hereby postponed. However, the CUK did not gave any reason for postponing the tests. The revised datesheet for these papers shall be notified separately.
The KU also postponed the interview for the post of Assistant Professor and Tutor at Institute of Paramedical Science, South Campus University of Kashmir.
The spokesman said that it is notified for the information of all the concerned candidates that the interview for the post of Assistant Professor and Tutor at Institute of Paramedical Science, the South Campus University of Kashmir which was scheduled to be held on February 18, 2019 is hereby postponed.
A fresh date for the postponed interview shall be notified separately later, the spokesman mentioned. But no reason was given.
