New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) The National Capital on Monday woke up to a thick blanket of smog with the mercury dipping to 14.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below season's average here.
The air quality, that had witnessed a little improvement on Sunday, again moved up to 'very poor'
this morning with an average index value rising in the city to 345 , recorded at 1000 hrs.
A thick layer of haze was visible in the sky due to the smog at several places in the National Capital.
The relative humidity was 80 per cent at 0830 hrs, the weatherman said.
The maximum temperature during the day is to hover around 29 degrees C, according to the Met office.
On Sunday , the maximum temperature settled at 29.7 degrees C , a notch below season's average.
A man, walking his kid to school in the morning, told UNI that initially he did not feel the chill, but after stepping out in the open, he realised the need of a sweater or some warm clothing.
