CM urges traders to stop selling ganja, gutka  in shops

Puducherry, Dec 4 (UNI) Stating that Ganja and Gutka were banned in the Union Territory, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayansamy on Wednesday urged the traders here not to sell them in shops under the guise of tobacco.



In a release here, the Chief Minister said complaints galore that Gutka is being sold under the pretext of tobacco and added that the use of such stuffs would spoil the future of youths and college students.

The shopkeepers who are selling the stuffs should consider the students as their own children and should refrain from selling such items, he added.



Pointing out that it was found that the shopkeepers in Karaikal sold such stuffs under the guise of tobacco and were caught and lodged in prison, Mr Narayanasamy said and appealed to the shop- keepers in Puducherry not to sell such items.
