CM regrets over Centre reducing grant to UT

Puducherry, Dec 5 (UNI) Regretting that the Union government continue to reduce its grant to the Union Territory, Chief Minister N Rangaswamy demanded that it be restored as in the past.
Speaking at the Valedictory function of the stakeholders meet organized by the Tourism Department here on Saturday night, he said Puducherry needs power to implement the schemes.
Presently, the government do not have any powers as it is under the control of the Central government, he said Puducherry is in a situation that it should enhance its revenue through tourism development. However, the government is shortage of funds, though, it desires to implement several schemes.
