CM Reddy to launch Telangana State Police Complaints Authority website and logo

Hyderabad, Oct 15 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will officially unveil the website and logo of the newly constituted Telangana State Police Complaints Authority (TGSPCA) at his chambers in the Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Thursday, according to TGSPCA Chairman Justice Dr B Siva Sankara Rao.
The Telangana government has established the State Police Complaints Authority (SPCA) along with two District Police Complaints Authorities (DPCAs) for the Hyderabad and Warangal regions, following directives of the Supreme Court of India in WP (Civil) No. 310 of 1996 filed by Prakash Singh and others. Previous government orders laying down the rules and procedures for these authorities were issued between 2013 and 2020, but the authorities had not become operational for unspecified reasons.
Under G.O. Rt. No. 315, Home (Legal) Department, dated April 13, 2025, the State Government recently appointed the Chairman and Members to the SPCA and the two DPCAs. The authorities aim to enhance transparency and accountability within the police force by providing citizens a credible platform to report misconduct, custodial torture, abuse of authority, and other serious violations.
