CM orders heightened security after Delhi blast

Bengaluru, Nov 11 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed police chiefs to maintain strict vigilance across all district headquarters, including Bengaluru, and directed the Home Department to enhance security in crowded places following the tragic car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort.
He said, "The news of the car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort, causing several casualties, is both painful and shocking. I pray for eternal peace for the departed souls and a speedy recovery for the injured. Precautionary measures are being taken to prevent any untoward incidents in the state, and I appeal to the public to cooperate with the police department."
Monday evening's blast killed at least eight people and injured dozens more in the national capital. Authorities say the car was a slow-moving vehicle which stopped at a traffic signal near the Red Fort area when the explosion occurred, causing multiple nearby vehicles to catch fire and prompting a high alert across key infrastructure in Delhi.
