CM instructs TRS MPs to insist on including reservations for Muslims, STs in EBC bill

Hyderabad, Jan 8 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed his party MPs to insist on inclusion of reservations for poor Muslims and Schedule Tribes in the Upper Castes Reservation Bill which was tabled by the Union Government in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that the state Legislative Assembly had already passed resolutions seeking 12 per cent reservations for Economically Weaker Sections among Muslims and 10 per cent reservations for STs and sent them to the Centre which had not made any move on it so far.
Mr Rao said that since the Centre had not acted on the State Assembly resolutions, the TRS MPs should insist that the reservations for Muslims and STs be included in the provisions of the Central bill seeking 10 per cent reservations for the poor among the upper castes.
