Imphal, Sep 15 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today launched "Swachhta Hi Seva Hai"/ Clean India Mission along with cabinet ministers at the iconic women’s market here .
Th.Shyamkumar, Minister , MAHUD, Th.Biswajit, Minister Works, women vendors of the Khwairamband Keithel, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and Ksh.Bhabananda, MP Rajya Sabha took part in the campaign.
The Manipur government has started preparing for the Swachh Survekshan 2019, the pan India cleanliness survey also .
The Ministry of Municipal on Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) has announced monetary assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to all the urban local bodies for the upcoming cleanliness survey. Manipur has also achieved open defecation free (ODF) status.
All the 27 urban local bodies (ULBs) of Manipur have received an open defecation free (ODFs) status. Manipur is now among the 18 states in the country to become an ODF certified state.
