CLP leader Siddaramaiah recommends to the Speaker Ramesh Kumar to disqualify four MLAs for violating party Whip

Bengaluru, Feb 11(UNI) The Four rebel Congress MLAs, who had defied the party Whip to attend the Budget Session as well as the CLP meeting, are facing threat of being disqualified from the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, as former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is also the CLP leader has recommended to the Speaker Ramesh Kumar to disqualify them.

The four MLAs, who are facing the axe from the party are former Minister Ramesh Jarhikoli, Umesh Jadhav, Mahesh Kumatalli and Nagendra, who were staying in Mumbai and not attending either ongoing Budget session nor CLP meetings convened before the Session began and during the Sesson.

Mr Siddaramaiah, who met the Speaker in his chamber submitted a 82-page memorandum seeking disqualification of four Congress MLAs, under the Anti-Defection Law, for violating the party directions.

KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao and others accompanied Mr Siddaramaiah.

The Congress in its petition submitted to the Speaker, also submitted some documents, copies of the notices sent to the defiant MLAs, their replies and also legal issues relating to the disqualification of the MLAs for violations and indiscipline.
