Civil war likely if intl forces pull back: Afghan Presidential advisor

Kabul, Apr 16 (UNI) Senior adviser to Afghan President Mohammad Mohaqiq warned on Friday that the country may plunge into a civil war if International forces were to pull back.
Mohaqiq's statement comes a day after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited the Afghan capital and reassured leaders that Washington’s partnership with Afghanistan will endure despite the US government disengaging from the 20-year conflict.
Mohaqiq warned that the withdrawal of foreign troops will lead to re emergence of extremism and the expansion of fundamentalist groups such as the Al-Qaeda.
