Hyderabad, July 5 (UNI) Union Minister for Civil Aviation has laid the foundation stone for Civil Aviation Research Organisation (CARO) at Begumpet Airport here on Thursday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhu said the upcoming CARO will cater to Air Navigation Systems (ANS) and Airport Engineering research to keep in pace with the exponential growth in Air Traffic in India.
AAI has allocated Rs 1200 crores spread over 12 years for establishing R&D infrastructure, procurement of tools, skill development and knowledge transfer which will benefit Civil Aviation in a major way, the Minister added.
AAI had earlier entered an MoU with Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT), to take up collaborative research on Air Navigation Systems. This would support AAI in addressing aviation infrastructure and air traffic management challenges for the common good of Indian Economy.
Earlier, Mr Prabhu addressed a public meeting held as part of 13th day BJP Naja Chaitnaya Yatra launched by State BJP President Dr K Laxman, at Parkala Town, Warangal Rural District.
BJP National General General Secretary P Muralidhan Rao was also present.
