City of Lakes sends two more daughters into Army
BHOPAL: In a country reeking with corruption, apathy and disappointment on multiple fronts, good news lends fleeting albeit thrilling moments – Akriti Sirur and Ruchi Yadav have given pride and joy to the Madhya Pradesh capital’s denizens through their scintillating performance and are to eventually assume the mantle of military officers through the medium of the O.T.A., Chennai.

In a double victory, Akriti secured top spot in the S.S.B.’s Women (Technical Entry) Category and also first place in N.C.C. Direct Entry. Ruchi stood third in the Technical Entry (Civil Branch). Both received crucial guidance at the city-based C.S. Institute of Defence and Management that offers a personality course for those aspiring to become officers of the defence services.

The facility’s patron and the Indian Army’s former Addl. D.G. (Operational Logistics) Maj. Gen. (Retd.) M.P.S. Kandal states that these two young ladies join many more from across the country who found their revered calling through the Institute in the past couple of decades but, in the same breath, points to a disturbing aspect of our society.
