Chugh slams Congress govt for playing with future of SC students

Chandigarh, Jul 16 (UNI) The BJP on Tuesday alleged that Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress government in Punjab was playing with the future of SC students as it was reluctant to send Audit Report of the fund received for Post Matric Scholarship to the Union Government.
This was stated by BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh after a meeting with Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot. The BJP leader raised the issue of non distribution of Post Matric Scholarship to eligible SC students with the Minister.
Slamming Congress government for its indifferent attitude on this highly sensitive issue, Chugh told the Minister that Punjab has a SC population of around 33 per cent but the government had not cared to disburse the Scholarships pertaining to the years 2016-17 and 2017-18.
