Chouhan urges inclusion of millets in mid-day meals, hails Odisha millet mission

Bhubaneswar, Nov 10 (UNI) union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday called for including millets in mid-day meals, praising Odisha’s women farmers and the state’s successful millet mission.
Inaugurating the “Mandia Dibasa” (Millet Day) celebrations, Chouhan highlighted Odisha’s exemplary contribution in transforming India’s millet movement into a people’s mission.
Encouraging the integration of millets into nutrition schemes, he suggested that millets should be included in children’s mid-day meals and millet outlets should be established in all government departments, so that other states can replicate Odisha’s model.

Dhanbad DC hears public grievances, assures action on encroachments and land disputes
