Chinese economy might suffer like USSR: Indian diplomat

Agartala, Nov 17 (UNI) An eminent diplomat and former Ambassador of India to USA Surendra Kumar observed that Communist Party of China might have held its grip strongly on its people so far, but in case the Chinese economy slowed down and people face pains a ‘turmoil’ like that of erstwhile USSR in next 10 to 15 years could not be ruled altogether.
While delivering speech on “70 years of India’s Relation with the USA” in Tripura University as part of Distinguished Lecture series today he said China has some difficulties. When you have a robust economy people can ignore what can be called human urge for freedom. In China the leadership demands loyalty of everybody to the party.
“The structure is working so far. Now the point is 1.5 billion people can be insulated for sometimes but not forever”, said Kumar and added what Chinese people could see all over the world would come to influence them and sooner or later they might demand what other young people demand in other parts of the world.
