China ups ante on Britain ask it to stop interfering in internal matters

Beijing June 4 ( UNI ) A day after Britain PM Boris Johnson's comment on Hong Kong,China slams UK and accused it to interfering in its internal matters.
In a daily press briefing Beijing's spokesperson Zhao Lijian today lodged stern representations with the UK and accused Britain of 'blindly commenting on and interfering in China's domestic affairs'
Earlier on Wednesday when British Prime Minister Boris Johnson informed about his governments new legislation to support the Hong Kong citizens and their pro democracy protest ,that he would offer millions of Hong Kongers visas and a possible route to UK citizenship if China enacted its planned national security law that was approved by the parliament last week.
Beijing warned London and ask it to do away with its old colonial mindset approach.
"We advise the UK to step back from the brink, abandon their Cold War mentality and colonial mindset, and recognise and respect the fact that Hong Kong has returned" to China, its foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said at a regular news briefing.
Zhao said London must "immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong's affairs and China's internal affairs, or this will definitely backfire".
China who is facing the backlash from the west over its new controversial security law said it hadn't made any promise to former colonial empire on Hong Kong's autonomy therefore Beijing is not binding to any International obligation.
