Chilly weather increases risk of high blood pressure, heart attacks & strokes: DAK

Srinagar, Dec 30 (UNI) As Kashmir valley is reeling under an intense cold wave with temperatures remaining below freezing point, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Sunday said that chill of winter increases the risk of high blood pressure, also known as hypertension.
''Cold weather hikes blood pressure which increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes,'' DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan said.
''Various studies have shown falling temperatures to cause rise in blood pressure,'' he said.
