Children's court sentences juvenile to 20 yrs RI for rape cum murder of minor in Hisar

Chandigarh, Sept 19 (UNI) The Court of Additional Session Judge-cum-Special Judge, Children’s Court, Hisar has sentenced a juvenile to 20 years rigorous imprisonment for raping and killing a six year old girl of Uklana in Hisar district. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 on him.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that Police had ensured speedy trial of the case after submitting challan in the court in a very short span of time. All these resulted in severe punishment to accused, besides justice to the victim and her family.
Giving further details, he said that the incident took place on December 8, 2017 when accused juvenile kidnapped six year old girl from near her house. The accused took the girl to a secluded place and then raped and murdered her. The body of victim girl was found near to her house on December 9, 2017. After registering FIR against the accused under various sections of the IPC and provisions of the POCSO Act, police had arrested juvenile on December 14.
